Experiencing Chinese: Writing Books 体验汉语写作教程

This series contain three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced. Each level has two volumes. It aims to improve students’ writing skills in stages and in a planned manner, consolidate their knowledge of language skills learning, and promote the overall development of learners’ Chinese communicative abilities.

The books adopt a spiral and progressive approach to enhance students’ ability to describe, explain and discuss in writing. The goal of the elementary level is to help students utilize their knowledge about Chinese characters, grammar, and vocabulary into written expressions. The goal of the intermediate level is to enrich students’ writing experience in various types of paragraph while improve accuracy of Chinese expression. At the advanced level students use what the learned from general paragraph and text writing into writing narrative, expository, and argumentative texts, and effectively enhance the appropriateness of expression.

For ease of use, each book contains 15 lessons, and also provides review lessons that can be flexibly selected. It also includes plenty of additional work that can be used as out of class assignments. These textbooks can also be used in conjunction with other textbooks for the purpose of gradually enhancing students’ writing abilities.

本系列教程共分六册，分初中高三级，每集分上下两册。力求分阶段、有计划地提高学习者的书面表达能力，巩固他们语言技能学习的知识，以促进学习者汉语交际能力的全面发展。

本教材采取循环递进的方式，提高学生在书面表达方面的叙述、说明和议论的能力。初级阶段的目标旨在帮助学生把学到的汉字、语法、词汇方面的汉语知识导入书面表达中；中级阶段的目标是丰富学生各种语段类型的写作经验，同时训练学生汉语表达的准确性；高级阶段从一般的语段、语篇训练向真正意义上的记叙文、说明文、议论文的写作过渡，并有效提高表达的得体性。

为方便使用，本教程每册编写了15课，还提供了可以灵活选用的复习课，以及足够数量的课外作业。本教材也可以和其它教材配合使用，循序渐进地提高学生的写作能力和写作水平。
